Mental Health Crisis Care Center

The crisis care center provides care for any adult experiencing a mental health crisis, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You'll be cared for in a safe, comfortable setting. Members of staff will help stabilize the crisis you're experiencing, take time to understand the underlying causes of your crisis, and connect you to longer-term care options.

The SafeUT is a crisis chat and tip line that provides real-time crisis intervention for students, parents/guardians, and educators through live chat and a confidential tip line—right from your smartphone and desktop.

Community crisis intervention and support services provide resources for crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and emotional support. 

These programs support individuals struggling with mental health challenges and connect individuals to additional resources that can help them.

The Kem and Carolyn Gardner Crisis Care Center combines crisis care, treatment, and long-term support, offering services designed to meet people where they are and guide them toward lasting wellness.

  • 24/7 care for those in crisis The center provides 54 beds for immediate psychiatric care, offering 24/7 support without the need for an ER visit.
  • Support for oppiate use recovery The center offers medication-assisted treatment to support opioid recovery.
  • Flexible treatment for substance use Adults receive flexible outpatient care that supports recovery while living at home.
  • More than outpatient care alone Day treatment for adults who need more help than traditional outpatient care

In collaboration with local partners, an entire floor of the Center is devoted to services that support long-term recovery and stability.

  • Free legal support A law clinic helps families overcome legal barriers linked to mental health crises.
  • Medical and dental clinics On-site care addresses essential physical and dental health needs, helping individuals stay well during recovery.
