Numerous companies and donors decided to “step right up” to make a difference for mental health at Huntsman Mental Health Foundation’s annual fundraiser, themed as a Vintage Carnival this year.
Guests walked a red carpet to enter the carnival. As they walked, they learned more about what Huntsman Mental Health Foundation is doing to transform how the world understands, treats, and heals mental health.
Various booths and stops, including a funhouse, gave attendees ways to interact and be inspired. The focus of the mission stops included the Crisis Care Center, Utah Translational Research Building, SafeUT, Lulubug’s Garden, and the Ad Council’s “Love, Your Mind” campaign.
Later in the evening, everyone was invited to support the mission by making a donation. Thanks to the generosity of Kem & Carolyn Gardner, every donation was matched up to $1 million. By the end of the night, more than $2.7 million was raised for Huntsman Mental Health Institute.
Two dunk tanks were set up for a special surprise. Anyone who donated $100,000 or $50,000 received a golden ticket to dunk Taylor Randall, President of the University of Utah, or Brett Graham, President of Huntsman Mental Health Institute.
Huntsman Mental Health Foundation is grateful to all sponsors for their generous support, including presenting sponsor UMB Bank.
